OUR ROLE IN PREPARING FOR THE PASSOVER. Jesus the Lamb & His Mission Against Sin.

Updated: Nov 30, 2022

“Behold the LAMB OF YAHUAH which takes away the sin of the world” John 1:29 (Cepher)

The 1st of the month Abib or Nisan was also on this very day that YAHUAH gave instruction to Moses concerning the PASSOVER, and how to prepare the children of Yashar’el (Black Hebrew Israel) for it, and be ready to select their OFFERING a Lamb without blemish taken from either among the sheep or the goats on the 10th day.

Not A Bone of Him Shall Be Broken

He gives instruction as to how the Lamb is to be prepared. Note even in the preparation and the cooking, not a bone of the body of the Lamb was to be severed or broken. CHRIST himself fulfilled this PROPHESY in his death, (see Jn 19:36).

“For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.”

The Lamb is CHRIST

The Lamb of course symbolising CHRIST, the manifest SERPENT CRUSHER, the “SEED OF THE WOMAN” foretold in Gen 3:15, whom Moses also PROPHESIED would come, and destroy sin and all the works of the devil. Revelation 13:8 reminds us, that CHRIST is

"The lamb slain from the foundation of the world"

Significance of the 10th Day (10th Abib or Nisan)

CHRIST’S Submission to the Will of YAH and Man

The taking of the LAMB on the 10th Day, symbolising not only CHRIST’s SOVERIENTY in terms of His DIVINITY and AUTHORITY, but also the number10 represents CHRIST’S Total OBEDIENCE and complete SUBMISSION to the will of YAHUAH, and also, it might surprise you to learn, to the will of MAN, in allowing Himself to be hung by SINNERS upon a tree.

Atonement

As such it symbolises the boundlessness of His ATONEMENT, demonstrating there is NO LIMIT OR EXTENT TO WHICH THE BLOOD OF HIS SACRIFICE CANNOT REACH, except for the UNPARDONABLE SIN. (The unpardonable sin being, where any way back to YAHUAH/ God The Father must be denied in the performance of the sin).

Completeness in Perfect Order

However, perhaps most significantly, 10 also represents COMPLETENESS, in PERFECT ORDER, the fact that CHRIST’s MISSION would be FULLY ACCOMPLISHED and complete fulfilling all that had been PROPHESIED of Him, before He could be arrested and taken to be CRUCIFIED.

COMPLETENESS & END OF THE LEVITICAL ORDER OF ANIMAL SACRIFICE

What is also significant, is that CHRIST’s DEATH, BURIAL and RESURRECTION on THE FEAST OF FIRSTRUITS, brought to completeness and thus an END to all of the Hebriac LAWS and RITES relating to animal sacrifice, in which YAHUAH confesses, He never delighted, (Heb 10:4-6),

“For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. 5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me: 6 IN BURNT OFFERINGS AND SACRIFICES FOR SIN THOU HAST HAD NO PLEASURE.” Heb 10:4-6

Part of the ritual of the Passover commemoration, or Feast is to remove leaven, (a symbol of sin) from our dwellings. This is symbolic of, and a reminder to individual BELIEVERS of our personal responsibility to allow times for introspection, to constantly examine our hearts, and to purged sin out of our lives, not just for the 8 day duration of the Feast, that is the PASSOVER, followed by the FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD, (which commences immediately on the next day following the passover), but effectively for the rest of our lives. Hence the Feast of Unleavened Bread recurs each year, to support us in this goal, and is the reason why is 7 days in duration. 7 representing the time YAHUAH ordained for man (until the end of time/ the first Judgement).

Yashar'el was commanded to eat unleavened bread for a total of 8 days, (if we include PASSOVER together with the FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD). 8 days being the sum of the 7 days YAHUAH ordained for Man, plus the 1 additional day (known as the 8th day), which symbolises the Millenial Reign, in which the Righteous will reign victoriously with CHRIST upon the earth for a1000 yrs. The 1000 year Millenial Reign is also prophetically memorialised in the 8th Day Feast which occurs, as the name states on the 8th day, at the end of the 7 day FEAST OF TABERNACLES in the Autumn, (which this year will be on sunset Tue 18th Oct – sunset Wed 19th Oct 2022. In this way the 2 sets of Feasts Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the SPRING, which also alludes to the start of the week, or the beginning of CREATION, and the Feast of Tabernacles and the 8th Day Feast in the Autumn, which alludes to the END of DAYS, and the end of the world,or at the end of the week, (YAHUAH allotted to man), mirror each other and symbolise perfection and ETERNITY or ETERNAL REST, as the Millenial Reign will usher in the NEW JERUSALEM and eternity.

To re-iterate, In a nutshell, the essence of what these days and the RITUAL OF REMOVING LEAVEN FROM OUR HOMES is intended to convey to us is that, we/ the believer must not only endeavour to put sin out of our own lives, especially if we hope to inherit ETERNAL LIFE, but that the onus is on us once purged, to keep ourselves from sin, not just for the duration of the Feast, or even for the rest of the year, but ultimately for the rest of our lives.

Incidentally, The PASSOVER this year will be from SUNSET THU 14TH - SUNSET FRI 15TH APR 2022, followed by the FEAST OF UNLEAVENED BREAD which will commence at SUNSET FRI 15TH - FRI 22ND APR 2022.

Did You Know that Moses Also Prophesied of CHRIST? & Gave a Dire Warning.

However, listen to MOSES warnings as to what would be the fate of those who deny or reject CHRIST, and thus the atonement He made for our sins, and continue to live on in their sins.

“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. 23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Acts 3:22.

Paul here, is reiterating what Moses had said in Deut 18:15,18. He is explaining that if we deny CHRIST, and continue to live our lives in wilful sin, especially after we’ve accepted CHRIST and received the KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH, there is no other ATONEMENT, or way that exists whereby we could be saved, and explains that if you are in such a case, then you have nothing else to look for, but fiery raging JUDGEMENT, or hell-fire. Paul goes on to point out that those who reject CHRIST make themselves his "adversaries" or enemies, and ripe to be so devoured. What a calamity, for if CHRIST, (who is also our RIGHTEOUS JUDGE) should turn to be our enemy, how shall we escape.

.

“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Heb 10:26-27

A Warning to Worldly Believers

Paul goes on to remind us that:

"He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: 29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of Grace?" (Heb 10:28-29)

Those that say they are free to 'live carelessly, or do whatever they want to do, and or are free to sin, because they are now under grace', are quite incorrect. MOSES in explaining this concept to the children of Israel in his day, warned them precisely of this dangerous mindset:

“And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:” Deut 29:19

This was a question that Paul often faced in his day, we can read his response to it, in Heb 6:1-2:

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

He reminds believers not to think that we won't be judged for sinning because of grace, and so be tempted to live wantonly.

"For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Heb 10:30-31)

Moreover, John reminds us:

"(For) We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not." (1 John 5:18)

REPENTANCE, Submission to God, RIGHTEOUSNESS,

and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:” Heb 12:14

Maintaining a right walk with God, Our AHAYAH, the removal of sin from our lives. This is the true relevance and meaning of PASSOVER to us today, and indeed of all the Feasts.

HAPPY NEW YEAR to All!
